Why did the roofs of the houses were not smooth, but uneven white powder about them?
I realized that in most homes, ceilings of the rooms are of dust and ground bumps white things on them. Why not make the ceilings smooth and flat? What is the purpose of powdery substance white bumps on our roof? When touched, crack and fall to create a mess on the floor.
Popcorn ceilings are used for two reasons: they are cheap, but mostly because they stop echo and absorb some of the sound. It's a bit like schools and large buildings have holes in the roof to put a bit of noise.
